1. They are very AI centric . They don't shy away from spending too much on their employees.
2. The tech stack is too good , very updated.
3. The work life balance is terrific.
4. Flexible work from home policy - as long as you're doing your work - that is.
5. Beautiful office atmosphere
Cons
For all the pros that Eli Lilly has , it has some really disheartening flaws.
1. I'm a network/contract employee, so we basically do not get any credits, acknowledgement for our work .
2. We had office cab facilities before , they have revoked it only for us Network employees.
3. When leadership teams from the US visit they take the team out for lunch. When I say team I mean only the FTE's (full time employees). This is so disheartening, are we not a part of the team? We work as much if not harder than the FTE'S. Why this discrimination?!
4. They openly hold parties , celebrations with tonnes of goodies right in our faces and say we are not allowed.
- Nice people to work with and all willing to help
- New build office with good facilities
- Good work-life balance (depending on department...)
- Good opportunities to move around the business... if you're lucky enough to be a permanent employee
- Great flexibility to work from home
- Processes are well documented and easy to find
- Great if you want short term job opportunity for contracting - interview process is relatively straight forward for a contract role.
Cons
- Senior leadership seem to care more about making money than doing the right thing
- Projects decided at senior leadership level not cascaded down to the workforce in a timely manner leading to last minute time crunches on important decisions
- A large proportion of the workforce are contractors so there is a high rate of turnover (you can tell as on internal systems a contractor will have '- Network' at the end of their name)
- A lot of focus is put on their graduate students which can make it hard for other employees to move around the business
- Contractors get no benefits whatsoever - disheartening when working next to a permanent employee doing the same work
- Interview process for internal and external applicants is not transparent, and feedback on interviews were lacking
- Lots of job cuts in the recent past so a lot of people are overworked and struggling
- No required set days in the office so sometimes could be very quiet even midweek
- Lots of processes which can slow down progress
- Meetings generally not organised well with no clear and defined purpose
Work life balance, managers do care (depending on department), you don’t need to know everything, great team support, encourage us to admit what went wrong and share learnings, flexible working hours, flexible WFH options, canteen is fantastic
Cons
Unless you drive, otherwise it takes 1hr to commute from cork city centre (20min walking + 8mins train + 20min walking)
