What is the hiring process like at Fiserv?

      Pros

Managerial training seems to be above par. A very 'PC' workplace. Which contributes to a non-toxic workplace.

      Cons

behind the 'PC' curtain you will still see a corporate monopoly doing whatever they can to appease shareholders. Associates are pawns in this massive game of chess. Over the past year some frustrating things FISERV has done. They took away one of our remote days, even though Fiserv had one of their best performances from a shareholder standpoint. They hired a TON of people over the past couple of months, and are now starting the process of doing mass layoffs. To do this, they have implemented a software called Sapience Analytics, this tool tracks your activity, providing massive data to you and your superiors.

      Pros

Newly hired Efficient TA process-recruiter kept me informed along the way and always followed up with an email. Interview process moved along at a reasonable pace and all interviews were held at scheduled times. Enjoyed all interviews and meeting team members. Onboarding efficiency - received all onboarding emails and tasks in a timely manner

      Cons

No cons to share at this time. The Talent Acquisition and Onboarding processes have been great.

      Cons

Bad work life balance No proper planning Instant decisions, without thinking

      Corporate Culture Failure

      Pros

There are many opportunities to learn new skills because people are leaving Fiserv like the plague.

      Cons

Do not believe what you’re told in the hiring process. You are required to be in office 4 days a week with most departments going to 5 days. Time in office is tracked by badging in and out and you’re required to be in office 9 hours a day. Unlimited PTO is a lie—it’s more like 30 days which includes sick time, vacation, and any remote days. Don’t bother coming into the office unless you’re going to hit 8 hours in office, otherwise it’ll count against you. Activity is tracked via salience with reports constantly being sent to management. Managers do not effectively manage, and the feeling of constantly being monitored and told you aren’t working enough has devastated morale. Promotions are given without any compensation increase.

      Pros

Some of my coworkers are cool!

      Cons

5 days in office, 9 hours with lunch each day just to sit on teams calls. Badge swipe and Sapience computer tracking - need to make sure you are clicking your mouse even when talking to coworkers. Terrible, top-down, authoritarian mgmt. CEO personally approves every new hire request. Will overload you with 3 jobs, then give such small yearly increases while spending 10's of billions on stock buybacks.

      Cons

Average pay scale Less than average increment Slow career progress Attitude of senior management is not that great Too much cost cutting in office resulting in removal of bare minimum amenities Washroom and canteen hygiene not at par New rules placed on adhoc basis at management's whim regarding strict 5 days WFO, minimum office hours, break hours, etc No budget allotted for team bonding / motivational activities like team lunches/ outings, etc No hiring even when people are leaving, resulting in vacant positions and extra burden on existing team members

      Business outlook

      Pros

There is a vast amount of knowledge to gain. I have been able to work on 3 different teams and move up the company. I truly felt (early on) Fiserv cared about developing me and I felt progress all the time.

      Cons

I feel there is little trust with management. They don’t backfill positions. They are just doing more with less. The tone from management has changed and it’s causing poor moral. They aren’t developing their people like they used to. From the tracking software and layoffs I know workers are on edge and I think from a top level down there isn’t a lot of transparency. Their process for reviews and raises are a joke. Poor training. Project process is so backlogged so no matter what there is friction with the clients on timelines which are out of our control. I don’t feel they are setting their workers up for success with the business.
