      Pros

      - Great mindset, always striving to improve the product as well as those who support it. -Staff is valued, heard, and well-compensated for the role that they tackle every day. - Many opportunities to advance within the company. The biggest recommendation is to focus on doing your support role well before looking to venture to other departments (the rest will come naturally). Support is a HUGE part of Jane. - Departments work well together (there is always room for improvement but we're very high feedback and welcome an opportunity to grow and learn). -Work is fairly reviewed and distributed amongst us drivers.

      Cons

      - This is not an easy role but we have resources to lean into to support us ( TCs are truly invested in our growth and mentorship) - Tooling is catching up to our whirlwind growth- a very promising and exciting time at Jane.

Hey! You are a delight. Thanks for the lovely review 💞 Support for more than 5 years! You've been doing such a great job connecting our Community with Jane... Thanks for the work and thoughtfulness that is required to do that so well. There are so many "special sauce" things that I'm trying to figure out how to scale as we push through that 500 team number. I've mentioned a few times that I think this is going to be a challenging benchmark, and as we've reached the threshold, I'm starting to understand more of the dynamics that come into play. I appreciate that you mentioned transparency as on of the "special sauces" at Jane. Others I can think of: working against silos, striving for Delight, and building a strong and sustainable company so that we can build a great team and continue to provide top quality services to Jane's Helper Community well into the future. Thanks for being aligned on those goals, and for stretching and growing around how that looks along with me and the rest of the Jane Team. We're in the middle of some very intentional tooling conversations - and I can see that sometimes the pause taken to consider decisions and the time that is now needed to implement change could feel like inaction to people who have been at Jane for a long time. It can feel that way to me! So I'm grateful for your contribution and attitude - our culture is only a combination of all the people that work here. Deeply appreciate your clear drive for improvement, paired with a positive approach to change. 😊 Looking forward to continuing to evolve and learn together with you as we keep working on Delighting our Customers. Pros

People in the company are living the values. I feel valued and appreciated. And I do things that matter. Clients love our product. Amazing peers, very helpful people across the companym, now just wihtint the team. And I really like my manager. There are opportunities to grow, learn and move around the company to change roles (not just in software development) Company is very responsible in managing the finances, so the job is stable. Interesting projects Very transparent, genuine leadership, no hiding things from employees. I love workign at Jane!

      Cons

As a developer same not so fun things are: still working a lot within a monolith, having to wait in queue to deploy and Ruby on Rails isn't the most modern language to work with, but the pros outweight those cons.

Hi Dev 💻 👋 - What a succinct but very thorough commentary of your experience at Jane! I just did a bit of an essay about Motivation on my reply to the review just after yours, and I think your points really nicely articulate how you are linking together what you find personally motivating with the enjoyment of your job. It's wonderful to hear that it's meaningful to you that "clients love our product" and that you are also feeling valued by your peers, your manager and the company. This is really what we're striving to achieve! You also mentioned that you appreciate that finances are well-managed and the job stability that comes with that. You've hit the trifecta! ☘️Customer, Team and Company. And I appreciate you sharing the inevitable friction points that exist for your particular role. I have been having some fascinating conversations about Monolith, Micro-Services, Domain Boundaries, Product Cohesiveness, and Code Base Structure with people across Jane. It's fascinating to see how these things change over time, and even how the experience for each of our "pods" of teams is slightly different depending on the part of the code base for which they are responsible. Code Base management is a forever project that's for sure. And appreciate the mention of Ruby on Rails. I love how the definition of a "modern" language or framework changes so rapidly in Tech! You made me curious so I just went down a little rabbit hole learning about Django and Rails. Ha. Now I'm going to go learn more. Are you curious how AI is shifting the programming landscape? I am too. I'll just assume you must be. Looking forward to continuing to build Jane with you - both the program and the company. Thanks for sharing your experiences here for others to read about. 💕 Ali - Co-Founder/Co-CEO On Behalf of Jane

Jane is a company that will allow you to grow, change direction when it feels right, and help you find your interests and passions. More than any other company, I've seen them allow not just support team members, but others move between departments to learn and try something new, all while still supporting the departments and simultaneously providing growth and development. In my personal experience, I was able to work hard, quickly move up in our support structure, and apply past experience while learning new skills to different teams, operations, and being allowed to provide valuable feedback and opportunities to the great people running the company. There is plenty of opportunity here for those who want to take it. It's not always easy, as it's very much a high growth environment. What comes along with progress and opportunity, is ambiguity and the need to push yourself and learn as you grow. A growth mindset applies here but is rewarding and satisfying as you develop your skills and build a great company with everyone here.

      Cons

I was reading a lot of the cons that other people write, and I want to acknowledge that I appreciate that everyone has their own experiences in what their environment is like and what work they do. People can have things happening outside of the job that impact their work, or other contributing factors that cause frustration or other things. I personally believe that Jane is a place where you can speak up and work through frustrations and have opportunity to try new things and to be supported in overcoming the issues in a wholistic way. If you're reading this, don't let the described toxicity or other things sway you away from being a part of this amazing company. Those are isolated experiences where I believe it takes two to overcome them, and Jane is always there to support you. While the ambiguity is sometimes frustrating, and the pace can feel slower at times than others, my only real con here was the salary and lack of commission. However, that being said, the opportunity to learn, grow, be a part of the feedback and development of current and new operations, is invaluable. One of the reasons I chose to leave was to support my lifestyle more and increase my earning potential for the next few years of my life. If you're a support person coming from another support role, though, your earning potential is so much higher here than almost any other company you'll find right now, with safety, security, and great benefits.
