Pros
-The people you work with -Patient relationships you build. You see the same patients throughout the years and really bond with them. -Discount on glasses
Cons
-Pay- they will hire others under after you that make more with no experience -MANAGEMENT- the upper leaders leave the GMs to do as that will. They will have managers yelling at employees, who clearly have favorites, who will sit in a small office with the entire building is on fire and not come out to help. They can be extremely condescending. I could keep going… -UNDERPAID for the amount of work they want to see you do. Now they have favorited the word “cross train” for everyone. They want us to do everything with ZERO pay increase. A tech is suppose to make more than the other staff. They will pull you from your position to do tech but you will never see a pay increase for knowing more. They use phrase like “the more you know, the more hours yiu can get”. It feels like a constant competition with others to get hours. -Under appreciated!!!!!!! Even if you have all the knowledge, come in to help with every position to help another office out or yours, the new hires will always get better treatment or if you are not a favorite of the GM you will never be recognized for your hard work, they’ll just add more work to your plate and complain if you make the smallest Mistake . -Over worked!!!! They want you to live andbreathe this store. If you have to be out for any reason you will get “shunned”. Talked about for weeks and hours cut or in my case, a new hire to take my spot..,. They went so far as to let someone with the flu come in to work. Eventually they did put a mask on but it jeopardizes everyone in the office. If anyone has gotten sick or their kids sick, who in turn have to miss days, the one being absent would be looked down upon. They will pile more and more on to your plate rather it is from your actual job title or someone else’s. They will also understaff be sure of “hours” which then in turn has everyone stressed to the max to get all the things that need to be done that day.
