What is the hiring process like at Standard Chartered Bank?

      Standard Chartered Bank reviews

      Multicultural Working Environment

      Finance manager
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

There were many expatriates working in the bank. There was no discrimination and all employees learnt to respect different cultural background and worked together as one team.

      Cons

Singaporeans were not given the priority in the hiring process, even though most of the jobs can be done by the locals. The management preferred to hire foreign talents.

      Good opportunity

      Senior associate
      Current employee
      Chennai
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good pay and smooth interview process

      Cons

Very less benefits compared to other product based companies

Show some compensation to your FRC team!

      Client service representative
      Current employee
      Kuala Lumpur
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nothing but just withstanding till the next opportunity arise.

      Cons

We the client care executive are the 1st in line for your clients to contact to! Standard Chartered Malaysia, you do realize this department has a freaking high turnover. Instead of hiring new joiners every month who will then last only a couple of months, why can't your damn management appreciate those who are there already? No compassion at all! Especially the Indian lady trainer over there seriously! You guys rather have employees that goes MIA than someone that's actually willing to do their best while dealing with some circumstances.

      Great place to work in

      Test engineer
      Former employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Friendly work environment Supportive team and managers Good learning opportunities for freshers Easy interview process On-time salary Flexible working hours Helpful training sessions Work-life balance is decent Chance to work on real projects Nice office infrastructure

      Cons

No cons for me. It is a great company to work with.

      Toxic

      Relationship manager
      Current employee
      Lagos
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Its a great place to grow if you do not mind the toxicity.

      Cons

If you are not liked (for the stupidest reasons) by any person in management, rest assured you would not be liked by the rest of the management team. The entire team will do well to avoid you, and you technically would have to function in the toxicity. The management team would blame you for the failures of the the bank’s process, and the condescending approach that subordinates are spoken with, it's appalling. You constantly second guess yourself as to your level of thinking.

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great work life balance, not hard to excel as many people are more occupied playing politics than doing their job

      Cons

nepotism at its best - hiring managers often bring in their friends and contacts who end up not doing the work but getting all the credit
