Does Staples offer healthcare cash plans?

Pros

• Working for a well known brand • Paid weekly • 401k • Guaranteed commission the first few months

Cons

• Flat quotas across the nation despite price point being less desirable depending on region/territory • HSA as only health benefit option • Heavy emphasis on unachievable metrics • 75% cannot meet appointment/close quotas • Sales managers lack people skills which will cost training and money so the mindset will never change • Staples is more expensive than a lot of competitors out there • Turnover is high and people don’t even shed a tear when colleagues leave because anyone can be next

Advice to Management

Train managers to coach, not criticize, their sales representatives. Anyone can say what you’re doing is wrong; a real coach will show you how to do it right. Invest in constant contact marketing to complement your old fashioned sales techniques of cold calling and door to door. The lack of inbound leads to the salesforce for a national brand should speak volumes.

Pros

Flexible hours and great co-workers at the store level, vacation pay and 401k match if you are full time

Cons

Terrible pay, tiny raises, understaffed stores, managers constantly breathing down everyone's neck to sell, very little room for advancement

Advice to Management

Pay your employees what they are worth and you'll have less turn over and more productive work days
