What is the hiring process like at Ultimate Medical Academy?

Leads/Lead flow. The Admissions job is call center/sales. The leads that you get are very wishy washy unless you're new to the company; new hires tend to get better leads. The metrics are UNATTAINABLE unless you're a new hire. The company NEEDS to procure better leads to make sure we can do our jobs to the best of our abilities.

The few pros here at Ultimate Medical Academy is that you do work remote, but you have to be plugged into the wall, meaning (you cannot travel at all, not even to another city in your state without approval from the CEO). Also seems that the longer you stay, you have the opportunity to make more money based on their bonus structure.

Very high turnover, atleast 2-3 times a year of HUGE new hire training classes that dwindle down each day. My experience working here felt like a complete sham. And I hope this review helps people realize what they are getting into before accepting this position, as talent acquisition will not make it clear. In fact, nothing is really clear even once you are on the floor. Training is a complete waste of time (you only go over different call guides for 8 hours a day, and hardly about what you are really doing on a day to day). Once you are put with your team, you are expected to bring results immediately. Understand you have no autonomy of your own day, you are micromanaged to the T, and you are expected to produce results with multiple meetings in the day. You are responsible for things outside of your control, such as an employer actually wanting to accept “the help” you give them by being a “resource” for their hiring needs. Or even if your grad actually decides to show up for their interview that took you much effort to setup. This job is very hard if you’re the type who wants to actually excel in their career, and not worth the pay. I spent much of my time in low spirits due to this job, the management style, and the never ending false promises of “better” things coming. Initially this job was described to me, as being an advisor at a college but in reality you are not. Its far from that. It’s legit a call center job. To make it clear how it was a sham, on my initial offer letter, call center environment was not listed in any fashion. The very day we were “done” with training, we received another one that had to be signed again, that then had “call center environment” on the form. Take that as you may. This was my experience and it could be better in another role, but to help you understand we had 60+ people in our training class and ended with less than half of them. That number also went down each month.

They are pros at extracting tax payer money via grants, enriching themselves, and arranging employment for the least experienced, educated, & qualified workers in the job market. The grads frequently don't show up to interviews, miss work in the first 1-2 weeks, and have entitled and negative attitudes. C.S. management is incompetent and lack genuine leadership skills and operational know-how. They don't know the best approach to their own craft. The staff is severely overworked, micromanaged, and given unrealistic expectations. If you facilitate a graduate getting an interview or hire, which is incredibly difficult, and they don't show up, quit or get fired, you don't get credit. In other words, your time/efforts are dismissed or penalized for the graduates' bad work ethic, low IQ, irresponsibility and unreliability. This organization calls a vulnerable population offering them a scholarship, so they can get them a job. The more grads that get jobs, the more grant money they are eligible to receive. The cause is a good one, but it is a rushed process that matches underprepared people for demanding administrative jobs. They do not truly care about their staff or students, this "non-profit" cares about intercepting the hard-earned money of the American tax payer.

The executives make over $700,000 according to CauseIQ, which is tax payer money. This operation is just a wealth-transfer scam from the U.S. tax payers pocket, into the executives'. The turnover rate is extraordinarily high, so they conduct massive hiring sprees each quarter. To UMA's product are the graduates and the graduates, are crap. Most UMA staff quit, some get fired. I've never seen anything remotely close to it. The morale is AWFUL.

We can work from home and have flexibility, which enables us to spend more time with our families. The work is not too difficult.

This is the reason why favoritism among managers is such a big issue. You would assume that as you go above and above throughout the years, perfect metrics, very polite to everyone, you get your task done on time, you would be taken into consideration, but that isn't the case. When I applied for a team lead position, I was passed over in favor of someone who had been there for less than a year, even though I had more experience. The managers claim that they search for personality. I never reapplied. And to top it all off, the person they hired for the position was either unable or incorrectly able to respond to most inquiries from the public. I wanted to be prepared, thus it took me more than 4 years to decide to apply for the position, yet it's absurd that I was chosen over a new hire who I trained. The managers have no idea what makes a good leader, and they have no idea how many advisers have gone because of poor guidance. Let me tell you that I have been at Uma for a long time, and I have experienced discrimination from managers on several occasions. For instance, when I reached four years in the program, my metrics were strong, and the manager told me that my score would not change because she thought I needed more work. However, she also appointed a person who had only been at Uma for a year, whose metrics were worse than mine, to a team lead position, while I was unable to apply because of my low competency score at the time. But the manager did that on purpose. It was addressed and my title was the only thing that changed. A toxic workplace is being created by the managers they hire.The managers believe that because they hold a superior position, they are entitled to treat individuals whatever they choose. Regretfully, you are mistaken; I disagree. I just show there, get my work done, and leave. I used to look forward to going to work and be joyful. Now I just go in with little interaction, I finish my work, and go home.
