      Recruiter Interview

      18 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Mississauga, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at ADT (Mississauga, ON) in Jan 2016

      Interview

Well it was VERY long and extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I was first contacted by the Recruitment Manager in December. With the holidays, my interview was not until January. The Recruitment Manager was great at first. She always sent emails to ensure I was still interested. I finally had a first interview and she called me to say it went well and that they were scheduling the 2nd interviews soon. I waited 2 weeks and she emailed again saying the VP was on vacation and that she hoped I was still interested because they were very interested in me. Another week passed, no emails, no calls and the role was re posted on Linkedin so i called her out on it and she told me they wanted to see more candidates but yet again she said she was very interested. I don't know why I continued to follow up because it was clear at this point that I was being strung along. I sent one last email the first week of March and the Manager said the Director met with a few more people and they were still making up their minds. I stopped emailing at this point because it was evident that it was a VERY disorganized HR dept. Fast forward to the middle of March and I get an automated email saying I wasn't selected. At this point, I didn't care and didn't want the job however, the candidate experience ended up being pretty bad. it started off quite well and given all the emails I received I was hoping for at least another personal email saying "thanks but no thanks". This is what makes anyone in recruitment look bad. When you can't even call someone or send a quick email saying they didn't get the job. It makes all recruiters look bad because most of us don't do this. Avoidance in this field is really unprofessional. I guess it just showed me what kind of recruiters they are. Not something I want to be a part of.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ADT (Rochester, NY) in Nov 2016

      Interview

I was souced from a recruiter who reached out to me via linked in. She set up a time for a phone call we had a brief phone conversation and then she set up an interview time with the director of Talent Acquisition. We had about a 45 min phone conversation and then I met onsite in the call center with a current recruiter and the HR manager 30 minutes each.
