Interview
Very long process, with no response. I have been contacted by someone working for ASM via LinkedIn abut an open position in ASM in Almere. First I had a phone interview with them, then I had an online technical interview. Then I had another online interview. Then I was called during my holiday trip twice and and they insisted that I have another interview asap. So I accepted as they said the interview is only 30 minutes and it can be done over the phone (I left all my notes at home so I couldn't prepare well for the interview), so I had the "30 minutes" last interview with an interviewer asked me really job "unrelated" questions like "What is the difference between ASM and ASML?" and "What is the difference between Intel and ASML?". Then at the end of the interview he said: "You will hear from us within one week", it has been more than a year now and I heard nothing from them (I followed up by email). Overall bad impression and bad experience, interrupting me during my holiday trip with a phone call twice then with an interview with irrelevant questions, and on top of that no feedback. I am very happy they didn't hire me.

Interview
The interview went through background talk, technical questions, and coding interviews. But to be frank, they like to ask questions about unfamiliar topics even if I say I can't remember and am unfamiliar. Although I said I was not familiar with manipulation problems, they continued asking questions on this topic and made a Bit Manipulation problem. I do not think that they want to find something valuable in the experience that you mentioned. Instead, they focus on finding the weakness in your knowledge framework even if you said you can't remember in advance.
