As a small company, it's critical to maintain a positive reputation from both our clients and team members. We have always strived to be a place where our developers and staff would stay long-term. We provide in the top 3% of highest-paid salaries & benefits in our areas of business. Unfortunately, but realistically, not every person under our employment has had a positive experience, for whatever reason. People are people and each has different personal goals.
I wish I could say that we are surprised this interviewee took to the internet to post about his interview, especially after they expressed rather deep concern regarding a reasonably standard employment agreement "non-disparagement" clause. One could have just moved on to the other "offers" instead of publicizing non-public information about Active Logic. We don't force anyone to sign our employment agreement and we've never heard a single complaint from the many employees we've had in our seven years, including over 10 Sr-level professionals we've hired over the last six months.
Best wishes to this interviewee, but we made the right call when we retracted our offer. This wouldn't have ended well for either side.
