I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2022
Interview
Initially I was interviewed from a third party company who reviewed my profile and set-up the interview. The interview went well and he sent me the second round. This round was one of the worst candidate experience I ever had. The Hiring manager was the most confused person as it seems like she was not interested in answer the questions nor knowing about me as an candidate in detail. Even if I answered her questions, she seemed to be coming back at them and asking more details. This might be one of the most unstructured interview by the Hiring Manager.

Question 1
How do you prioritize your tasks?
What if you get multiple tasks on the go?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam) in Feb 2026
Interview
I was referred by a friend to appear for this role. I received a call from recruiter to schedule a first screening call and had a positive interaction with him.
After that, I had to take up a Hackerrank assessment on SQL and Python questions. It took me 1.5 - 2 hours as you were not allowed to use any sort of LLM help. Test itself was not that difficult. I passed the test and the recruiter scheduled the next interview.
I was invited for an interview onsite and I was interviewed in this technical round by two analysts on the team. There were no seniors present in the interview. It was 45 minutes at the Amsterdam office. I was asked only open ended questions without any specific technical discussions about any trade offs or analytical best practices.
After this round, I received a no-go call for further rounds, based on this feedback (still not provided in writing probably because it was so vague):
The interviewers found that you took time to get to the point. Your current set-up in your work is more mature than Adyen's set-up so you might not enjoy the challenges in our department.
I found the reasoning ridiculous and frankly felt not having a senior present during a technical interview was not the right decision by the hiring team.
I have provided the same feedback to the recruiter via email.

Question 1
"Walk us through a project where you faced a technical challenge where the set-up was not going to be sufficient for long-term"
"Walk us through the current analytics set-up you work with with technical details"
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen in Mar 2023
Interview
I had a call with the recruiter. Then, I moved on to speaking with the Hiring Manager where we discussed some behavioral and case study questions. After that, I was given a take home assignment and after spending hours working on it and sending it back to the HR, I didn't hear back for two weeks. Later on, the HR emailed back, apologized and said something happened internally, and that she would like to schedule me for the assignment review. So I submitted my times. Didn't hear back for a week. Two weeks later, I got another email from this HR, she apologized again, said she was sick and that she still would like to schedule me for the assignment review. I trusted her and submitted my times again. Didn't hear back (again) and that was it.
