      Flight Attendant Interview

      4 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Portland, OR
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Portland, OR) in Aug 2016

      Interview

I applied online and got an email a few days later inviting me to do a video interview through HireVue. It was about 9 behavioral questions and was fairly easy. The next morning I received a phone call inviting me to a in person interview in Portland, OR. First tip, make sure you dress professional. Everyone was in blazers and heels. Bring a pen and notebook to take notes. In the first hour they go over a lot and I guarantee you'll wanna write it down. Talk and get to know your fellow interviewees. It'll help keep your mind off the nervousness and if you get hired they'll be in your training class. Better to get to know them now over later. When I arrived at the hotel where interviews were taking place I checked-in and entered the room where orientation was taking place. Two currently flight attendants told us about the job; what kind of training to expect, salary, what being on reserve is like, etc. That took up the first hour. We were released for a five minute break then returned. We were broken up into two groups for the group interviews. They were about about 15 other people in my group interview. We were all given a notecard with a question and we went around the group saying our names and answering the question. Speak calmly and keep the question short, sweet and to the point They then divided us into three groups and told us to come up with a product/service they don't currently offer, how to market it, how much it would be sold for and a name for it. Everyone in the group was expected to participate and explain the product. After that were were released into the hall and given our one-on-one interview times. If you had a later time you were allowed to leave as long as you came back in time. During this time talk with the others again, remember always be friendly! And smile! The one-on-one is very simple. More behavioral questions. After the one-on-one you are pulled aside and told if you got the job or not. I wasn't offered the job, but the lady told me not to give up as she wasn't offered the position her first time around either. Good experience and everyone was super friendly.
