I was asked to do a project and then was ghosted. I followed up 3 times and after more than a month of hearing nothing, I gave up. Two weeks after my last follow up email, I got a generic rejection letter. Really disappointing and disrespectful process especially after asking candidates to do free work.

You go through the interview process, they get your hopes up, then they decide to promote from within. Very frustrating.
