I applied online. I interviewed at Alicat Scientific (Tucson, AZ) in Aug 2025
Interview
Submitted an application with a few short free response questions, then phone screening, online logic/reasoning/comprehension assessment, and more formal interview. I was ghosted for the formal interview after setting a date and time.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Alicat Scientific (Tucson, AZ) in Jan 2025
Interview
I had to complete two online assessments that evaluated 1. Your math skills (easy math but limited time) and 2 your personality (Think of Meyers Briggs)
I believe I had 3 interviews.
1. With the director or VP - informational
2. With a manager and a current Applications Engineer. I used this time to ask a lot of questions that I had, and they asked a few customer service questions along with a few technical (think troubleshooting approaches & conceptual physics questions)
3. Meeting with 1 applications engineer + another employee that was less technical and more gauging your personality. It was very obvious when they starting asking questions such as what is your favorite book?... etc
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Customer is stating no flow how do you troubleshoot
The first half of the interview was by two people who mostly asked through my resume and a bit of technical questions pertaining to different scenarios where you had to solve a problem for the customer. The other half was taken by two different people. The questions in this one were more personal. I received a rejection call soon after the interview although I thought it went really well. I don't think the reasoning I got for getting rejected was accurate since I had the experience required as per the job description. I believe it was based on there office culture. They need people who are exactly like them. Majority of the interviewers were quite young with little experience.
