I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Allianz (Southampton, England) in Sept 2021
Interview
After sending my cv I was contacted for a phone screening / quick interview with very generic questions like what do you understand by underwriting, who are Allianz competitors, why do you want this job etc.
After that I was called back again to schedule a competency based interview + presentation exercise. This interview lasted two hours, in the first hour I was asked a broad range of questions regarding my competences (was required to use the STAR method to answer). In the second hour I was asked to prepare a short presentation addressing the following question: “how would you approach your first 30,60,90 days at work”.
After the interview I was ghosted for a week. I emailed the hiring manager who then called me and said that although I interviewed well and they liked my cv and past experiences, they won’t take me on board due to geographical reasons, even though I confirmed I was willing to relocate.
Waste of time and very unprofessional, why invite for interviews and then come up with such nonsense.
Overall the whole process felt difficult considering it’s for an entry level position.

Question 1
Why underwriting, why Allianz, tell me about a time you had to deal with difficult colleagues at work, what’s your biggest weakness,
I applied through university. I interviewed at Allianz (Beirut) in Jun 2017
Interview
The interviewer are really kind and make you feel comfortable while answering the questions. The process is fair, quick and interesting. I had to go through 2 HR interviews before meeting the CAO, COO and finally the CEO of the company.
