After the initial automated confirmation of my application, I didn't hear from Allianz for 7,5 weeks.
Even after kindly asking the responsible HR employee for an update nobody contacted me. Why giving applicants a personal mail address of a HR employee, if this person can’t answer due to workload?
The job was recommended to me by a senior manager of Allianz personally, who I mentioned in the application. This manager hasn't been contacted either. What would be a better source of reliable information about an applicant than a manager of the company? This senior manager then took the time to ask the corresponding HR member for an update and was told that there’s to much work as to answer requests.
The negative reply was sent on a Sunday afternoon, which leaves only two options:
1. Even after 7,5 weeks nobody took the time to personally review my application and the negative was sent automatically via the system. A clear sign of missing appreciation for the applicant.
2. Allianz makes his HR department work on Sunday because of an overwhelming workload. Definitely not a sign of a professional structure and appreciation of your staff.
The application process is managed through a Salesforce system requiring a personal account. But communication and updates on the relevant application is sent via mail. Even after the negative reply with an automated text my application is still shown as active on my account. Processes and standards seem to not be aligned.
After this experience I'm kind of glad that I received a refusal because who would like to work in such an unorganized and unprofessional environment?
And when asked to review the recruiting experience one has to create the next account on glassdoor with a wild variety of mandatory fields and passing on a lot of personal information.
