      Senior IOS Developer Interview

      5 Nov 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Anyline

      Interview

First there was an initial call with iOS lead where he asked me general question on what I do, very cool guy and very knowledgable. Then I got a task to do. After the task was done I had an interview with the same guy from the first interview and his colleague. She was also extremely knowledgable and very easy to communicate with. This was a technical interview, questions are below. I passed that and then it was time for another interview, this time the same guy but now with two or three more people, one lady from hr and I guess the main boss. The offer seemed a little bit like a bargaining where the main guy threw stuff in (such as iPhone etc) into the deal while we were communicating. I guess is an ok person but his vibe kinda put me off, and the bargaining part was a red flag because if stuff went south (which happens in all companies from time to time) the cuts would be made without any plan. The offer should be planned before and you shouldn’t spare like 800€ (no tax because you’re a company) over two years for an iphone. Plus it goes into your expenses so you can write off tax off it. I believe if you’re a product company iphone, macbook and a screen are conditio sine qua non. But hey, that’s just my opinion. The money was not bad, but also could be a better. Then Corona happened, all borders closed and it was PITA to get to Austria from where I am. I had to turn the deal down even though I’d love to work on their product because I see at least 10 new uses for it.
