I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AppFolio in Dec 2018
Interview
HR->Tech->Rejected
Very surprised that I got rejected after the first round tech interview. Both interviews went well and I did solve the coding problem. HR didn't reply my question about why I was rejected . Very upset about it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First round with HR. Very basic BQs, introduce yourself and talk about some projects on Resume. Asked me how much I know about Appfolio and talked about the technologies that they're currently using.
Second round with a senior engineer. Very basic network questions, such as concepts of HTTP. Coding part is easy.
Thank you for the feedback and we are glad we got to chat with you regardless of the final decision. Definetly stay in touch with the company - we are growing!

I applied through university. I interviewed at AppFolio in Feb 2024
Interview
the interview experience was pretty nice, the interviewers were all so good. I was extremely nervous during the first round, and an interviewer even encouraged me to release my pressure.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AppFolio (Santa Barbara, CA) in Feb 2023
Interview
I had to do an initial 3 rounds for an internship position. Each round consisted of some questions about my resume and technical expertise, as well as a technical portion. The technical portion was usually pretty easy. After the initial 3 rounds, I was told that I didn't get the position I interviewed for, but the recruiter invited me to do a "casual 30 minute conversation" with a different hiring manager. I showed up to this conversation and was greeted with an hour-long technical interview. After having a pleasant experience with the recruiter and interview process so far I was extremely disappointed that they outright lied to me.
We value your feedback and your time and thank you for sharing this review. We work hard to ensure that each candidate receives the best possible experience and will consider your valuable feedback for future interviews. Thank you again for your thoughtful response.
