My interview experience was unusual and somewhat disappointing. I was initially approached by the company rather than applying directly, which set an expectation of a more tailored and exploratory conversation.
During the interview, the interaction felt highly scripted. The interviewer appeared to read questions verbatim, and there was little engagement beyond the prepared prompts. Surprisingly, there were no meaningful questions about my professional background, portfolio, or relevant experience.
Instead, the discussion focused on very broad topics such as “what is good content” and “how do you align with teams.” When I responded, I was told my answers were “too general,” despite the lack of context-specific questions. The interview concluded with feedback suggesting I did not appear senior enough, which felt inconsistent given my decade of experience in strategy, including several years in technology-focused roles.
Overall, the process felt impersonal and misaligned with the typical expectations of a senior-level interview.
