      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Avo Photonics (Horsham, PA) in Oct 2024

      Interview

I was contacted by HR originally for the Program Manager role as it aligned with the duties from my previous employment. I did OK on the interview with the manager, but due to their high selectiveness I was recommended to apply for the Product Systems Engineer role. Again, I was interviewed by another manager for that role. HR was in touch with me frequently in the beginning which I greatly appreciated her efforts. However, after the Product Systems Engineer interview, I was pretty much ghosted. I called her office about three or four times asking about my application status, but I was unable to reach her. I pretty much gave up :(

      Interview

Starts with a general introduction to the role. The major questions asked are all resume based but previous experience is highly valued. The underlying principles and workings of previous optics/photonics systems are asked and in-depth technical answers are expected.
