- standard recruiter phone and screen
- asked to do a front-end project and coding interview
- the project wasn't hard and it took about 4 hours. I completed it in one night and thought it was a decent submission as they ask that it be a minimum viable product. I made sure it hit every single one of the given requirements and wireframe.
- coding interview went fast. After initial intros, we jumped into some code. I felt that more direction could have been given. Only about 15-20 min of actual coding time, which isn't enough to really process and think about the problem. It felt a bit rushed.
- when I asked for feedback on why I did not move on (I wanted to know the reason, as my project was decent and interview didn't feel bad), the coordinator responded with "no feedback can be given at this time"
- while I understand the reasoning for not providing feedback to protect their passing criteria, etc. It left a bad impression for a company this size. I thought there would be some discussion about the project I completed but that didn't happen either.
