Bait & switch! This is not a data scientist role! This is 100% reporting. As of October 2018, this team is at least 6 months to a year away from anything advanced.
Originally, when I spoke with the hiring manager we had a great discussion about using advanced analytics and modeling to drive the business. I then had 3 follow up interviews with those who would have been my internal customers. Our discussions we're 100% about querying data and can I put data together in a pretty format in Excel for them. I moved on with the in person to learn more in hopes that a good portion of the role would be dedicated to modeling, predictive analytics, and analysis. It was not. It is 100% reporting. At the end of the interview, I was told I had the job. I then asked the hard questions about the data science that I really wanted to do and expressed how I did not want to be in another role dedicated to reporting. At that point I no longer had the job.
