Initial phone call with HR, seemed like an average initial with no surprise questions. The next step of the process was to go on-site for an in-person interview. Overall, the interview process seemed in-depth but not overly involved. They needed to backfill a specific position so they may have expedited the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Experience with managing campaigns and reporting analytics.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bare Home (Forest Lake, MN)
Interview
You have a first interview with HR and then a 2nd interview with the CEO, the hiring manager, and maybe someone else on the team. The first interview is more of a screening over the phone, where the 2nd one is in person.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Bare Home (Minneapolis, MN) in Jan 2025
Interview
I interviewed with Bare Home and got the impression that the work environment is highly structured with close oversight. It may suit those who prefer clear directives, but it didn’t seem like the best fit for independent or creative work. Based on the reviews I read after my interview, my gut feeling was right.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to share examples of my previous work in social media, but before I could finish presenting my first project, I was cut off. The rest of the interview was mostly them talking about the company rather than asking questions. It felt more like a lecture than a conversation, making it hard to gauge expectations for the role and reinforcing my concern about a lack of autonomy for creative work.
