Researched the company and printed out an application online. (VERY IMPORTANT! Bath & Body is a company that tracks conversion. Conversion is the percentage of people who come into the store and the percentage of those people who buy at the store. We get annoyed when someone comes in and asks for an application, then comes back an hour later to turn it in. It throws off conversion.) Dressed business casual, but made sure to follow the company look by wearing white shirt with black dress pants. Turned my application in and was asked to come in for an interview on the spot. Availability and references are VERY important to this company. If you don't have a large amount of availability, you won't be asked for an interview, no matter what your qualifications are. If all 3 of your references aren't filled out, you will not be called. I had a group interview with 3 other candidates. Once again, I wore business casual (again, with a white blouse. One of the candidates was wearing flip flops, short pink plaid shorts, and a pink t-shirt. She did not get the job.). We were told to choose our favorite product prior to the interview, so I made sure to spend some time reading the back of the bottle to learn about the product. Interviewed with the manager and co-manager. They didn't ask us very many questions, just went over what our responsibilities would be and explained some things about the store. Asked if we had any questions. I asked what a typical work day at the store would entail. When the question was answered, I followed up by asking what our priorities, as a sales associate would be. The other two candidates did not ask any questions. (They did not get hired.) We were asked to sell our favorite product to the manager. Make sure you know the benefits of the product and are able to share why you like it so much. DEMO THE PRODUCT on the manager and do a hand massage. That's very important to do. Overall, don't let the group interview intimidate you. Come across as outgoing, friendly and invested in the process and you'll do just fine. After the interview, I called to check on the status of my application. Had to call twice as the manager was out the first time, but on my second call, I was offered the job.
