I applied online. I interviewed at Bella Baby Photography (Richmond, VA (US)) in September 2020.

Interview

Virtually met with hiring manager who was very friendly & knowledgeable. The process was Very easy but long, there are lots of documents and pre screening requirements that are due before you being training and working for Bella. Online training & virtual training to follow

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bella Baby Photography (Columbus, OH (US)).

Interview

We had an online and Skype screening interview was t he first interview. After that process the Manager met me in person and was hired officially in person. They will go over all the medical immunizations requirements and etc.

Was told I would make an average of $25 an hour and that most photographers made $50. (All lies)
Was told I wouldn’t have to work weekends that Monday was considered a weekend. (Lies)
Was told they supplied a camera for shooting, and a computer for editing. (Lies, such old equipment you can’t use it without adding another 3-4 hours to your workday that you won’t get paid for)

Interviewer explained job to me to ask if I was still interested in working with them after agreeing they Simply asked to view portfolio and experience as well as photography supplies I own. Very nice and Professional as well as welcoming .

The initial interview with a Remote Recruiter/Trainer lasted roughly 1 hour. The interview was pleasant although very general in nature. There was great interest in my quiver of equipment. I'm doubtful that the representative looked at the portfolio that I submitted.

Initial response to application was fast, received an email within a day to schedule a phone interview a few days later. The next day after the phone interview I received an email to schedule a second phone interview and asked to provide samples of my work. That second interview is scheduled next week. Phone interview only, they let your photography examples speak for themselves. The most difficult part of the hiring process was going threw all the vaccination stuff. You have to be cleared by the hospital for a lot of vaccinations

Followed up, phone interview and then after it was revealed that the position is largely commission based, all contact was ceased and no one would return emails or phone calls.

Application was not acknowledged for three weeks. HR contacted me asking if I was still interested, and immediately, legally, hired me without any prior interview or vetting.

Within the next week I was required to get vaccinations, drug tests, etc. Due to the corporate structure my interview was over the phone with the regional manager who was pleasantly to the point and very focused on my skills as a photographer and my potential as an employee, rather than cryptic and unnecessary "where do you see yourself..." type questions.

Company contacted me to set up an interview, asked what times worked best for two different dates. I replied stating the dates and times that worked. I received no reply. Very unprofessional. After reading other reviews of this company on Glass Door, it looks like they are not very organized.
