Interview
You interview with HR first, he is really intimidating and expects you to be there fifteen minutes before the interview even begins. After HR everything else is very smooth. All the other questions are simple and common .
I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Bishop-Wisecarver (Pittsburg, CA) in May 2018
Interview
I applied through campus career website, and got the call second morning, scheduled first phone screen third day, and video interview with direct boss fourth day, then on-site interview in one week. Everything looks smooth, interview process was easy and no trick. Had great conversations with direct manager and president, mainly discussed about my past work experience and my passion about manufacturing. Promised to notify me within the week, but actually signed me an offer in three weeks due to the permission from the Defense based on ITAR. No space on salary negotiation, and no bonus or relocation compensation since they called "local". I had no other better option but accepted and signed it within a week. Here is the interesting part, after two weeks that I nearly had done all my preparation for moving and pre-screening test, I received the call that they would withdraw the offer because they dug further into ITAR, and realized that it would still violate Federal law if they hire a non-citizen, and they never had the experience sponsoring F-1 student. Why did you ask me about F-1 Visa and employment sponsorship if you don't want? Why didn't you just stop it when phone screen and I told you I'm an international student and will need sponsorship in the future? This has been six weeks and you withdrew it when I was travelling with family. I would rather know that you were not satisfied with something about me (like salary negotiation, or not changing social status on LinkedIn?), or you just found a cheaper replacement. So folks, even you ARE a citizen and can do any project related to this company's business, but they also can DO ANYTHING to you if you are not cheap enough! Thanks to you, I'd have to chase for better option!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bishop-Wisecarver (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2017
Interview
I had an initial phone interview with the HR person and they were pretty common questions. It lasted a half hour and it went very well. I was asked to come in for an in-person interview and met with the hiring manager and the HR Director. It was a good interview and everyone seemed nice.
