I interviewed at BlingABC (China, ME)

      Interview

A recruiter acted as a child with limited understanding and you had to demonstrate a class. You are supposed to use a pdf that that supply you with teaching instructions. The instructions tell the teacher to read different things on each page - things that a new English learner would not understand. Yet, you are told to do so. I normally wouldn't say such long sentences that a student would clearly not understand in the context of a class. So, you are torn between following the instructions, and doing teaching well. Lose-lose. I ended up following the instructions. And of course, the student (recruiter) acted as if they didn't undertand what I was saying. I "passed" the interview, but was offered the lower base pay. Was this a trick? I don't believe tricking people on interviews. If this is how they treat potential teachers during an interview, how do they treat them when working with them?

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What could you have done better during the demo class?
      Answer question

I applied online. I interviewed at BlingABC

      Interview

I only went through the first interview and decided not to move forward because of the pay. The interview itself was great, and my interviewer was friendly. They'll go through some regular interview questions and do a demo class where they pretend to be a student haha it's actually quite funny because you both will see the humor in it so it won't be awkward. But the pay is $15 p/hr which I was shocked about because I had my hopes up as almost everywhere online you'll read that it apparently pays atleast $23 -__- And I've been teaching over 3 years so it's definitely not because I'm a new tutor

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

'hardest thing about teaching online' so I said not having physical presense so I use things like TPR (mention a problem and solution), 'what age groups have you taught in the past', 'are you available during peak hours'
