      Executive Assistant Interview

      22 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bookspan (New York, NY) in Jan 2018

      Interview

I went in for several interviews and met with many people, probably spent about 5-6 hours in total on interviews over the course of a month. I was in the final 2 for the role and was confident that I would be an amazing fit for what they needed. Then I was told that they think they would have higher expectations for me in the role than they would for someone else, so they were giving the job to the other person instead. I said "so to clarify, you would not expect the person you are actually hiring for the job to perform the job as well as i would?" and they said "that's correct". Okayyyyyyy. Most bizarre reason to not hire me that I've ever heard.
