I applied through other source. I interviewed at Burial Beer (Asheville, NC) in May 2024
Interview
I recently had a phone interview that left a positive impression on me. The interviewer was polite, energetic, and fun, with a great sense of humor that made the conversation enjoyable. They asked engaging questions and allowed ample time for thoughtful answers, ensuring I felt heard and understood.
What stood out was the interviewer's excellent listening skills. They asked probing questions that helped them gain a deeper understanding of my interests, desires, and goals. Additionally, they provided a clear and accurate explanation of the company's culture. Having observed the business as a customer, I can confirm that their description of the workplace is spot-on.
Overall, the interview was a pleasant and insightful experience, reflecting well on Burial's approach to potential new hires.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How long was I willing to stay in the roll. This question was asked because my qualifications are beyond what is required for employment. The company is worried about rapid turnover at this position.
It was really just a series of conversations. First, a short phone interview with the HR person. This was followed by a 1 on 1 interview in person with the head of accounting.
Round table quick fire questions from different members of management. These were fairly all over the map and mostly pertaining to their areas. Answers to questions given to them were vague and incomplete.
