My interview experience on December 31, 2024, was not ideal. I had three rounds scheduled back to back, but it was clear that the hiring team had no interest, as they switched interviewers till the last minute, likely due to the holiday season.
The first round started off well with some introductory questions, and then I tackled a medium-level BFS coding problem. I explained my approach thoroughly, and the interviewer seemed satisfied. I successfully coded the solution and executed the output communicated well throughout the process. However, the interviewer was surprisingly silent during the coding phase. With just six minutes left, they wrapped up the session, allowing me to ask a few questions.
In the next round, the interviewer abruptly stated that my qualifications didn’t align with the position and canceled all upcoming interviews. I was surprised and asked for clarification, but they couldn’t provide a specific reason, only suggesting it might relate to the previous interview that happened 2 minutes ago. I was told that the interviewer of my first round might have submitted the feedback in the middle of the interview itself. This experience felt more like a judgment than a fair assessment of my candidacy. I expected a thorough evaluation given the multiple rounds scheduled.
