I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Carta in Jun 2024
Interview
I Had a phone screen interview and fundamental questions about experience and projects. For example, resume walkthrough, information about the position, potential locations, and describing a specific project in depth.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Carta in Mar 2025
Interview
Extremely unprofessional and complete waste of time. I would say worse stuff but it's Glassdoor and not Reddit.
HR asks me for a phone screening on Thursday. It goes well and I was asked to setup a call with the hiring manager/tech lead. I get the confirmation and have it scheduled for Tuesday. I message the recruiter to inquire format and any extra details about the interview and I get no response. I get to the interview nobody shows up. I sat there for 30 minutes. I email the recruiter and the recruiter sends an automated response that she is OOO. On Wednesday, she tells me that the role is filled. Absolutely disgusting. Spent the weekend preparing and studying too.
Recruiter screen, then chat with someone within engineering. The guy from engineering showed up late and I later learned that he rejected me since he thought I didn't have enough experience. He clearly didn't look at my resume since I've had over ten years of experience in my field. It's really disappointing that he made snap judgements about me based on how I look.
