I applied online. I interviewed at Center for Applied Linguistics in Apr 2022
Interview
First interview was a phone screen with HR, about a week or so after I submitted my application. About two weeks after that, they contacted me for a panel interview, which consisted of three hiring managers, and then I got to meet the rest of the team for a more informal panel. Before the panel interview, I had to submit an assessment.

Interview
They did things slightly differently than other organizations in that my first (and only) interview was an in-person interview at their office, and it was done with the head of the organization (supervisor of this position) and three other staff members.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
With an in-person interview as my first/only interview and interviewing with the head of the organization and three other employees, the interview was thorough with all of the standard questions about my professional past and skills. I had read the Glassdoor reviews before the interview and noted the many negative ones. I think these negative reviews were reflected in the time I got to ask questions. I asked a couple questions about the culture and work atmosphere, and I thought it was a bit telling that only the head of the organization answered them. Were the other employees not allowed to speak up or were they too afraid to? At one point, right after I asked one of my office culture questions, I caught two of them glancing at each other, and they had the look of dread on their faces, almost as if to say, “Oh, no! How is the boss going to answer this? This applicant is going to find out how awful it is to work here!” The other employees didn’t seem to be unhappy about working there, but I found it a bit telling that they didn’t provide any information to me directly about it when I asked my questions as well as the telling look they gave each other.
I also note here that it took them a long time to get back to me after my first/only interview – 7 weeks.

Interview
Had a brief phone interview first where the manager described the basics of the position (including salary) and asked a few preliminary questions. This was followed by a Skype interview with the manager and a member of the team which lasted slightly longer than an hour.
