I applied online. I interviewed at Century Educational Services
Interview
Saw the job online and sent in a resume. Several weeks pass by and I get a call to ask if I'm still interested in applying, I say yes, we set up an interview date.
I travel from Tokyo to Osaka for the interview, greeted by a couple of nice folks, Japanese and foreign, lead into an interview room and wait.
Several minutes go by, managers come in, introductions, etc...all very polite and jovial.
I'm generally good at interviews so I felt relaxed and confident.
Get the usual "We'll be in touch." at the end, shake some hands and leave back to Tokyo.

Question 1
How can you apply your past experience to this position?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Century Educational Services (Osaka, Gifu) in Mar 2009
Interview
I attended the interview after a friend recommended the company to me. They offer a little above the average teaching rate and mostly cater to companies in the Kansai area who need business English. After a telephone screening, I attended a 1.5 hour interview by the director followed by a 30 minute demonstration lesson. They seem to like teachers who follow the CELTA approach - 80/20 student talk time, goal-focussed lessons, active teachers etc. I felt they were testing how much I talked in the interview so try not to talk too much and be open to their requests on what they would like you to do in a lesson. They can micro-manage but always pay on time and seem to have an endless flow of work coming in. Be friendly and professional and show your enthusiasm in the interview!!!
