I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Chapman Tripp in Apr 2026
Interview
more intense than other firms interview process. some quite techincal questions. 30 minutes long but friendly. on teams. question time at the end for you to ask questions. hardest interview i have had so far
After a brief phone screening that lasted approximately seven or eight minutes, I received an email saying that I had been rejected and would not be progressing to the next stage of the interview process.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Chapman Tripp (Wellington, Wellington) in May 2025
Interview
The process involved two interviews. The first was on zoom for 30 minutes. We spent a fair amount of time talking about legal concepts rather than usual interview questions in this one, although I got the usual how do you deal with conflict in your past experience and tell me about yourself. Gave me a lot of time at the end (10 minutesish) to ask questions.
The in person interview involved more pointed behavioural questions targetted towards me and I found to be more difficult. It was 40 minutes long. It generally involved less of the standard interview questions (though there were some you'd expect like why commercial law).
