The interview process was straightforward and professional. Questions focused on QS fundamentals, previous experience, contract knowledge (NEC/SMM), and cost control. Interviewers were ok friendly and allowed time to explain technical answers. Overall, a fair process with clear expectations of the role.

Interview
Self-introduction, followed by interview by 2 commercial managers, asking your background, and understanding for NEC contracts and SMM. The questions are quite technical, including retention, defined cost, item coverage for different items and trades in the SMM.

In NEC4 Option C contract, what would be the retention to subcontractor payment? And would this be deducted in IPA to main con?

It was a teams interview and it took around 40 minutes. There are two managers in the teams meeting. They would keep asking questions about your internship experience and book knowledge from what you learnt from your university.
