      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ClickSoftware in Aug 2011

      Interview

Was contacted by a 3rd party recruiter for this job because my resume was an exact match for the job. Had two phone interviiews one with HR and another with a project team member. Those went well and was invited in for a face to face interview. Met with director of Professional Services who asked me a few questions on my background and then gave me a blank piece of paper and asked me to write a class to generate a list of non-repeating lottery numbers. Odd way to test asking people to write code on paper, not representative of real life in the slightest. Then he did not feel my approach was efficent so spent time discussing it. Next interview as in a conference room where the woman hardly spoke to me and handed me another blank piece of paper and asked me to write classes to solvve some additional coding problems. One was to reverse an integer wthout changng to a string, one was to remove characters in a string, and the third was to write some human readable xml for some data returned from a store inventory. After that I was given a scheduling puzzle. The third person I met with did not administer any tests, just asked me about items on my resume. Overall it was an odd interview, typically if companiies administer tests that is told to you up front, this was not. One thing that each person asked me was if I had looked at thier website and asked me questions about thiier site. I lost interest in the interview half way through it. The people conducting the interview seemed more like robots then people. I was not impressed by the company culture. The people interviewing did not talk about company culture or how it was to work there and when I asked those questions it seemed like most had a difficult time answering them. After the interview I called the recruiter and told her I did not feel that this company was a culture fit for me and that I would continue my search.
