      Product Manager Interview

      12 May 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Clippings

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter and had a 1:1 set up at the Clippings office fairly quickly. The interview started quite late but once we go going I was asked some good questions about my experience and how it fits with the role. I didn't hear back after a week and chased this with the recruiter but disappointingly I never heard back from Clippings. This is the first time I've experienced this with a company and was a quite disappointed that no one took the time to say I wasn't a fit and provide feedback. Having interviewed a lot of job candidates in the past I know how time consuming a process it can be, but with an addition of a recruitment agency, I feel they could have been used to relay this info to provide a more respectful experience.

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Clippings (London, England) in Oct 2019

      Interview

Was contacted by recruiter who I guess is hunting new people to join the team. After some communication up and down he thought my previous experience are great match for what they looking for, as he assured me he has placed at least 9 people within this company. Interview was fairly easy, focus very much on my previous experience. This is the crucial and very important moment as they are focus a lot how is address or express your previous experience. Short diplomatic answer straight to the point will help rather than warm open discussion. Even though I was not looking for a job and was contacted by their recruiter assuring me I have right set of skills and experience I was given feedback that I do not have the right experience for this role, which was of course fair enough. With all that been said, they wanted me to put my application forward and meet their CEO, so we have agreed to arrange second stage of interview. After a week I heard back from recruiter that they have changed mind and will not proceed with my application to the second stage due to not having right experience. In the end, I felt that there is something in the air about this company and would probably not join the spirit I have received from people who interviewed me.
