      Associate Director, Project Management Interview

      22 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cohen & Steers (New York, NY) in Sept 2025

      Interview

This company made me a tentative offer and rescinded it at the last minute for someone else after I had come to their office for an in person interview. The first round was a standard conversation with a leader of their team, and was standard. There were no cross-examination questions, and they quickly put me through to the second round of the interview process. The second round was a six hour written exam. The company sent this exam and all related materials to me late. After I handed this in, I was asked to attend more interviews, and a comprehensive background check process, provide references, etc. Once this was complete, they rescheduled my final interview with the team, that was set to be in person, minutes before I arrived at their New York City office for the first meeting. While I was enthusiastic at the prospect of working there, they were largely inconsiderate of my time throughout a majority of this process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me what I know about the company, why I would be a good fit, and if I would be comfortable taking a 6+ hour interview exam as a part of the second round of the interview process.
