This was a pretty easy/standard interview, I was asked about my experience with tutoring/advising, writing, editing, previous job experiences, goals for the future. Scheduling was easy and I heard back within a week.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CollegeAdvisor.com (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2025

Disappointing Interview Experience – Unprofessional and Ghosted
I interviewed for the College Advisor position and was extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism throughout the process.
Interview Process:
The first-round interview felt disorganized and unprepared. The interviewer (a VP) presented themselves casually—arriving in a wrinkled shirt—while expecting candidates to be fully professional. The questions were scattered, often focusing on advertising/media strategies without clear context (e.g., no budget parameters), making it difficult to provide structured answers. At times, it even felt like they were fishing for free ideas rather than evaluating my fit for the role.
Communication & Ghosting:
Despite multiple follow-ups after the interview, I never received a response—not even a rejection. This lack of basic courtesy reflects poorly on the company’s respect for candidates.
Red Flags:
Unprofessional demeanor from leadership
Poorly structured interview with unclear objectives
Potential exploitation of candidates for free ideas
Ghosting after the interview
I’d caution others to thoroughly research this company before investing time in their hiring process.
