I completed a phone screening, a performance task, a formal interview with two people, and a second and final interview with two different people from the first. This was, of course, a pretty intensive process and happened quickly. Unfortunately, the experience was not entirely positive. Everyone was nice and very friendly, and I enjoyed speaking with them. However, they weren't experienced interviewers, and it showed. My phone screening had to be rescheduled because the person who was supposed to call me never did. The questions asked during the phone screening and interviews felt rudimentary, leading, and sometimes confusing, as if someone googled "interview questions" and pulled from the first result, rather than tailored to the position. The performance task I was told would take a couple of hours took at least 10, and I was not compensated for that task. Additionally, at no point during the extensive interviews did my interviewers disclose a salary range for the position, or mention salary at all. After successfully completing the final step of the interview process, I was ghosted by the company for several weeks. There could be many good reasons for this, and I'm mostly willing to give the benefit of the doubt. But seeing the other reviews here about past candidates also being ghosted gives me pause. I'm not convinced I would have received a formal rejection at all (which is only polite, and such a bare minimum) unless I had essentially asked for one by following up a second time.
