      Operations Associate Interview

      27 Feb 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ColorOfChange.org (New York, NY)

      Interview

Started out with the typical phone interview. Moved on to the writing portion of the process. After that was a panel interview with the hiring team and was told if you pass that, you provide references to get the role. Panel interview went mediocre with technical difficulties and a week later was given the automated email of not being able to offer me the position at this time. Whole process took 2 months. 2 months I wasted because even though I was fully qualified, had a passion for their organization, and did well on enough to get to that point, I can't be offered a position because I don't have compelling anecdotal experiences to answer their random situational questions stunningly. HR needs to be completely reworked since the hiring team doesn't seem interested in hiring qualified applicants, just those they are fond of and...remind them of them. It felt like I was disqualified from the jump. Won't get controversial, but don't waste your time applying for these roles if you can read between the lines.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at ColorOfChange.org

      Interview

This was by far the WORST interview process I have ever embarked on. I was contacted in late January. for a phone screening. Below is how many interview rounds I went through: 1) Phone interview 2) A Written Exercise 3)Panel Interview, 4) "Final Interview", 5) Reference check 6) Additional Interview I finally got an official response in May stating that they moved forward with candidates that best fit what they were looking for. ( Also seen they reposted the role about 1 week and a half before I touch-based for an update) From January to May with all the interviews and information requested from me, I personally felt it was insensitive and disorganized. This was a clear depiction of the lack of professionalism that exists within this organization. I would NOT recommend applying for this organization due to their lack of transparency. Unsure who is handling their HR processes but it is exploitive/exhausting.
