I applied via one-tap application on Indeed.
I got a call back the next day. The recruiter lady was very much not interested in my experience, only asking to verify my clearance status.
I sent them my Security+ cert, and the next day I get another call. Instead of scheduling an actual interview with the client, the recruiter gives their offer, well below many industry standards in terms of base and h&w. No benefits. No PTO for 6 months. No negotiation.
I ask the recruiter many questions, such as what the contract was, who the client was, what the schedule was like... all of these were met with âumâs and ultimately âI donât knowâs. The only thing she could tell me was that it was for the Army.
After that awkward conversation, I get another call the following Monday. To my surprise, âthe clientâ selected my application from the âpoolâ (even though I had never even actually interviewed or spoke to any of the supposed âclientsâ), and they wanted to know if I would accept.
I ask the recruiter for some time to think it over and consult with family before I provide my decision, and youâd have thought I just asked her how to mine cheese from the moon. I then get an email the same evening telling me they needed an answer by 9 PDT.
