Client Services Global Delivery Manager Interview

      5 Sept 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Contran

      Interview

First off, I truly believe it is my own fault I did not do better in the interview. I should have prepared better. That being said, the heat of the room mixed, aggressive questioning, and no water made things very uncomfortable and certainly had an impact on my answers. Interviewers all have water and are dressed business casual. Interview was not technical in nature, and no scenarios were given. "What would you do if, or "describe a time when" were not asked. Essentially the questions revolve around a distrust of your resume and emotion provoking questions designed to get you off your game. The process is very reminiscent of early technical interviews in the late 90s and early 2000s. The group thinking back then was that you need to make the candidate as uncomfortable as possible in order to find the best candidates. This has been demonstrated to be an inaccurate way of finding the best candidate, but there are still a few companies out there, like this one, who haven't adjusted to best practices. The interview is less than 30 minutes with consistent interruptions when trying to give out answers. The interview is similar to what I have seen on court room dramas. Think of it as you being a witness for the defense, going up against 5 prosecutors at the same time.
