I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Covidien (Vancouver, BC) in Jan 2013
Interview
The hiring manager was impressed with my resume and flew in to see me. I was an 11th hour addition. I was 15 minutes early and he kept me waiting an additional 10 minutes over our scheduled time. He seemed genuinely friendly and we made small talk for a few minutes. I was not expected to know products in depth as it was a new industry for me but I was familiar with them having researched prior.

Question 1
He asked me about how I would approach sales for the territory and I replied using proven sales process 101. I was surprised to hear later from the recruiter that the manager wasn't pleased with the answer. Was he expecting a full business plan given my background? Also, the position was for a front line sales (order taking) person whereas my strength were clearly in business development and complex sales so perhaps the job approach required a far simpler approach versus my process orientated answer.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Covidien (Ludlow, MA) in Jan 2010
Interview
Originally, I met with the Regional Manager. After that, I met with the VP of Sales for the East. After passing those two interviews, I went for a ride along with a sales person. After that, I finally went to HQ and met with the President and other management. You need to plan on taking 3-4 days off of work in about a 6 week process to get through this.
