      Administrative Position Interview

      18 Oct 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Englewood, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DISH (Englewood, CO) in Sept 2019

      Interview

Had a phone interview with HR and about a week later was asked to come in later that week for in-person interviews and to take two "questionnaires." After taking a half day off work to accommodate them, I came in and met with two executives individually, plus someone in HR. Then I spent about an hour and a half completing questionnaires, which are really aptitude and personality assessments - one of them was the Wonderlic and the other one was through Pearson. I then came back the following week to interview with another person. A few days after that interview, I received an email asking me to complete a THIRD questionnaire. After that, crickets . . . until I called someone in HR three weeks later to see what the status was. I was told "let me check on it and I'll call you back," which didn't happen. Imagine my surprise when about a week or so later I saw that the position was reposted. When I originally saw the opportunity, I thought about it twice because of the not-so-good reputation Dish Network has had in Denver as a place to work. However, that was several years ago and I thought maybe things had improved - unfortunately, not the case. If this is the way they treat candidates who jump through hoops to meet with them and take time off work to interview, then you have to wonder how employees are treated. Let me just say that based on my experience, there are other companies out there who know how to treat candidates and the Dish recruiting team obviously needs to learn the basics and remember to TREAT OTHERS LIKE YOU'D WANT TO BE TREATED. By the way, I didn't even get the template/boilerplate "no thanks" email.
