Initial call with HR followed by a general interview call with hiring manager and then a python data project. This was then followed up by a skype interview with the director. Director invited me to the offices to meet the team, even agreed on a date and explained that someone would reach out to confirm times. I am based in Belfast and they were always aware i was willing to relocate. I had been planning a trip to London with friends so was happy to attend the offices so based my whole trip around this and made changes to flights for an earlier more expensive flight. Throughout the interview process i was also working on my dissertation and explained this but still gave the process my all and spent a significant amount of time on the python project and interviews. After all this, and weeks of silence I was disheartened to be told this morning that they decided to proceed with two other candidates as they couldn’t wait on me attending the offices. Very unprofessional to do this, when you have told someone to come into the offices, agreed a date, and they’ve booked the time and flights to attend. If you are not in london and looking to relocate then don’t bother interviewing here.
