I was called for a brief set of preliminary questions and then scheduled to meet the management on a Monday. The phone interviewer told me to print the application and fill it out prior to my arrival. I fuflilled my tasks.
When I met the hiring managers, my experience became negative. My first observation indicated that they were highly doubtful about my interest in working there because I have a Master Degree. Almost every other question was asked in a tone that conveyed uncertainty about me staying in the position. The question that lingered in my mind was "why did you call me if my credential bothered you?" It was as if they already believed their assumptions about me to the point that they failed to ask for my completed application. I offered it to them anyways before they walked me out.
With all due respect, please read the resumes more carefully before you call the candidates. Also, keep your negative opinions in check because they are assumptions about a person, not prophecies.
