The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Davis Purity Bakery (Denton, TX) in Jul 2011
Interview
I had heard through a friend that the bakery had recently been on the market for sale. My initial contact was to inquire as to whether or not the bakery was still for sale, or if it had been sold. Upon further research and discussion, I felt it important to work alongside someone who had owned a successful business of this nature for a while prior to purchasing one of my own. Once I contacted the bakery, I found out that the owners were looking for some assistance. I went into the store and filled out an application in order to interview. The first lady I spoke with was very approachable. She asked about my background and experience. I made an appointment to come back to meet with the owner. The day of the appointment, I arrived a few minutes early and the lady who was working was also very informative, providing some background information about the bakery and such. The interview with the owner was very enlightening. He is an entrepreneur in more areas than just the bakery, as the bakery is a family owned business dating way back through several generations. Our interview/conversation ended with me suggesting ways in which I would like to come in and assist with growing the business and with him needing to wait to see what the current staffing situation turned out to be. I plan to follow up with the owner within the next week. The atmosphere appeared to be that of do a good job, good customer service, provide a good quality product.
