      Senior Javascript Full-Stack Developer Interview

      13 Aug 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dev IQ (Denver, CO) in Jul 2019

      Interview

The interview process was very positive and Justicia, the recruiter, was always thorough and candid about each step. She helped me prep along the way. I contacted her and we set up an initial chat within the week. Soon after, I had a technical phone screen with one of their senior engineers. He asked about my background and dove deep in technical subjects (Node.js, front end). I took a personality quiz and the results were shared with me and discussed as far as a fit for the company. There was a code challenge step, but the recruiter helped fast track me since I had other offers outstanding and worked with my timeline. The final round consisted of meeting the leaders and others I would be working with, including product. They're a small firm, but are led by industry veterans, so there were lots of opportunities to find your niche -- most questions were what you would expect when getting to know a candidate and their career/personal goals. The final conversation was a friendly technical chat about pros/cons and technical trade-offs for various topics.
