I applied online. I interviewed at Disability Rights California (Oakland, CA) in Jul 2023
Interview
The interview processes were great. I made it to the second interview. But based on my observation, I notice that the process lack structure. They actually sent me an automated email that I did not get selected for the next process, but the administrative assistant assured me that this was a mistake and to ignore the email. I did find this a red flag.. The first and second interviews had five-person panel. After the second interview, they told me they'll update me with the news within one to two weeks. One month later, radio silence, even after few professional follow up emails. I thought that was quite rude for an employer to ghost job candidates, especially after second round of interview! I have to assume that they selected another candidate and was just too lazy to let me know. I definitely dodged a bullet with DRC. Oh well. This is just to keep in mind that it is the new normal that DRC will most likely ghost job candidates after rounds of interviews. Don't expect them to reply back to you.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First interview questions were more related to my experience and what is my story with applying for this advocate role. The second interview question are related to what I would do if I were a worker there. And I gave a mini presentation on an advocacy topic.
